On June 28th, 2018 La Nueva Bnei Israel (NBI) community in Santiago, Chile celebrated the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art building, designed by architect Nicolas Loi. The community has finally moved into its new home following years of planning and fundraising. The new building holds a sanctuary and classrooms as well as a mikveh.
The construction of the building was commemorated with a time capsule containing a papyrus scroll with the names of everyone involved in the project, a photo of the construction workers, and a signed document commemorating the placement of the cornerstone which was buried beneath the Aron HaKodesh. The inauguration of the new building was celebrated on June 28th with a formal ceremony and celebration attended by donors, community members and public figures as well.
